It is primarily an American, Lithuanian style Haredi but non-Hasidic yeshiva. TIUNY was founded in 1974 as the first external affiliate branch of the Chofetz Chaim education network by Rabbi Menachem Davidowitz and Rabbi Dovid Harris.
