About University of Missouri
The University of Missouri (often referred to as “Mizzou”) was founded in 1839. It was the first public university west of the Mississippi River.
With a student enrollment of more than 30,000 souls, MIzzou offers over 300 degree programs in 13 major academic divisions. It is perhaps best known for the Missouri School of Journalism, founded in 1908 as the world’s first professional school devoted to the field of journalism.
