Brooklyn College, a component part of the City University of New York (CUNY) with a student body of around 1,850, was founded in 1930.
The Division of Graduate Studies was established in 1935. Today, the college offers more than 70 graduate-level programs in humanities, fine and performing arts, natural sciences, math and computer science, social sciences, and education.Brooklyn College also offers an eight-year MD degree program in affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
