Sara Austin

Sara L. Austin, EdD is a writer, instructional designer, and academic researcher. She earned a BS in business and entrepreneurship from the University of Maine at Machias, an MEd in instructional technology from the University of Maine, and an EdD in educational leadership from the University of New England .
A California native, she now lives with her husband in Maine in a home they built together by “Googling it.” Her research specialties include cognitive biases, social and emotional learning, data-resistant belief systems, and cultural competence. She believes in the power of education to open minds and break down the barriers that divide people.
