In 2025, the top ten schools in our ranking of the best grad schools in Missouri saw a fair amount of shuffling. Washington University in St. Louis gained twelve ranking positions to move to first place. The school was able to do this by expanding the Institute for Innovation in Medicine, which offers interdisciplinary opportunities in healthcare, biotechnology, and public health research.

The university has also enhanced its sustainability efforts, incorporating new green buildings and renewable energy initiatives across campus.
