Lacrosse is the rare area of college athletics dominated by schools concentrated entirely in the Northeastern U.S. With only a few exceptions in the Top 20-University of Virginia (#9), Northwestern University (#12) and Duke (#16)—the remainder of the list is constituted of colleges in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. Syracuse, Johns Hopkins, and the University at Albany, SUNY top the list of best colleges and universities for lacrosse.
